After the great news that Lleyton Hewitt will be the number one season ticket holder for the Crows comes the news that he has agreed to a similar honour with the Adelaide Pura Milk 36ERS.
He will share the honour with the Governor, Marjorie Jackson Nelson.
She is one of the greatest there ever was; he is one of the greatest there is.
Both are passionate & proud about their state and the sports teams who operate within it.
The Adelaide Pura Milk 36ERS are one of the most successful basketball teams ever in Australia, with four championships, three in the last 5 years.
Whilst the team has not had the start to the current season they would have hoped, they have drawn from the success, courage and fighting spirit both Number 1 Ticket Holders have shown in their chosen sports and throughout their lives, in winning the past four matches, on the road, to put them back on the doorstep of the top 6.
Despite his time out of the state and country, Lleyton was quick to accept the invitation, and the Governor, regardless of her hectic schedule, also was pleased to formalize her enduring friendship with Coach Phil Smyth through her acceptance of the honour.
Chairman of the Pura Milk 36ERS Bernie Lewis said 'recruiting' the two top ticket holders was a real boost for the club.
"We are really thrilled to have two individuals of the caliber of Lleyton and the Governor willing to come on board as our joint Number 1 Ticket Holders. They obviously must get many requests and to accept our invitation says something about the club and in particular, the high esteem that Phil Smyth is held in. It's great for the Crows, the 36ERS and the state."
Lleyton will attend this week's match against the Melbourne Tigers to be presented with his special number 1 ticket holder singlet.
