Lleyton Hewitt, Mark Philippoussis, Wayne Arthurs and Todd Woodbridge took on a depleted British team. The tie, played on clay to negate the talents of Rusedski and Henman, was a straight forward  victory for Australia as the two top Brits had been sidelined with injuries. Bogdanovic, a young British player shows great talent and promise.
